Carrasco left Clemenger Sydney in 2015 to join Facebook as head of its creative shop, but latest less than 12 months in the role.
Since her resignation in October 2016, Carrasco has been working on a 'full-time personal project', according to her LinkedIn.
Prior to Clemenger, Carrasco was co-founder and executive creative director at Colman Rasic Carrasco, which was named AdNews Emerging Agency of the Year in 2008.
She will work alongside deputy ECD Sesh Moodley and CCO Mike Spirkovski.
The move follows a recent restructure of the Publicis leadership team as Saatchi & Saatchi CEO Michael Rebelo steps up to Publicis CEO as Andrew Baxter departs.
“Rebecca is an inspiring creative leader who has accomplished much in her career and I’m thrilled to have her join Saatchi & Saatchi,” Spirkovski says in a statement.
“Her work is outstanding, as is her passion for helping nurture the aspiring future talents of our industry. Above all, Rebecca is brave, highly optimistic and shares our passion for making work that matters.”
Carrasco says everyone strives for amazing work, but achieving it comes down to the people around you, and their desire to see others succeed.
'I’ve worked with Mike Spirkovski before; we’re excited by the same work and I really respect the way people are encouraged to get to it,' Carrasco says.
'I’ve given a lot of consideration to what’s next and I now look forward to joining what is already a great team.”
