Has the Silver Surfer just been confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War alongside Brie Larson's Captain Marvel?

Offshore Technology International -
Marvel fans were given a huge and very welcome surprise when Avengers: Infinity War directors, the Russo brothers, confirmed Brie Larson's Captain Marvel would make her MCU debut in the film.

But it seems that Joe and Anthony have even more secrets up their sleeves, as it seems they’ve included another fan favourite character from the franchise’s long-running comic books in the blockbuster.

As news drips out ahead of the film’s premier in May the cast has solidified and grown to include both Brie and Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage – both were only rumoured to appear – but they’re not the only additions.

If Metacritic’s latest listing for the cast and characters in the films is indeed accurate then another spoiler has leaked ahead of time, as it lists the Silver Surfer among the cast of wider characters in the third Avengers instalment.

This would be an exciting and brand-new addition for the MCU, and given that the Russo’s are introducing Captain Marvel (AKA Carol Danvers) as well as Peter Dinklage’s mystery character (We’ve got our money on him playing Pip the Troll), it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the surfer is coming home to the MCU.

Having previously enjoyed an outing that was the disastrous, Fantastic Four’s second outing with 20th Century Fox (who still happen to own the rights to the FF), the Surfer has not had the best of times on the big screen. But, given that Spider-man has crossed over to the MCU – and rightly so – the possibility of the character cropping up in Infinity War is actually not too farfetched, given that he plays a not entirely minuscule role in the Infinity Gauntlet comics arc. Metacritic have Curt Clendenin pegged as the cosmic entity and one-time herald of Galactus. The actor has had a steady role of bit parts, and has worked as a crew member on numerous films, but whether or not he’d land a role that could potentially be a trump role in a future phase of the MCU is another thing.

In fairness the casting seems to be sort of off given that the last time the Surfer hit cinemas Star Trek: Discovery’s Doug Jones and Laurence Fishburne teamed up to bring the character to life.
